Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population has warned citizens to follow COVID-19 safety protocols. The number of new cases is increasing at an alarming rate.

alth stated that Nepal is likely to fall victim to the third wave of COVID-19, as the number of new cases is skyrocketing.
According to the ministry,
Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Chitwan, Kaski, Rupandehi and Kailali districts are registering more than 500 cases daily.
“In recent days, the number of districts with a high percentage of cases has increased. Regional authorities must rally and prevent the spread of COVID-19,” the statement went on to say.
The health minister urged hospitals to prepare to receive new patients.
In late December 2019, Chinese authorities reported an outbreak of pneumonia of unknown origin in Wuhan City, Hubei Province. Experts tentatively determined that the causative agent was a new type of coronavirus, 2019-nCoV (later called SARS-CoV-2). On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, which by that point had affected 118,000 people in 114 countries.
